Changing your vibrational frequency is about shifting your internal state to align with higher energy that fuels creativity and inspiration. It starts with a conscious internal check, or as some would like to say a ‘vibe check'—taking a moment to assess how you feel. Are you stressed, anxious, lethargic, or uninspired? These lower frequencies can block your creative flow. By identifying and acknowledging your current state, you can begin to intentionally elevate your frequency. Awareness is the first step toward shifting your vibration, and when you start noticing how different thoughts, actions, and environments impact your vibe, you can make conscious choices to raise it.
One powerful way to change your vibrational frequency is through meditation and mindfulness practices. While this might sound esoteric or ‘woo woo’ to some, these activities are scientifically proven to quiet the mind and tune out the noise that stifles creativity. Meditation doesn’t have to be complex—simple practices like focusing on your breath, repeating a mantra, or visualizing an inspiring scene can elevate your state of mind. Mindfulness, on the other hand, encourages you to stay present and experience each moment fully, without judgment. This focus on the present shifts your frequency from stress or worry to a state of flow, allowing creativity to emerge more freely. I also find that when I make it a point to express gratitude out loud for the things that surround me, it tends to open up the restricted space in my mind and heart, creating room for new ideas to emerge.
Another effective way to raise your vibration is through movement. Physical activity, whether it’s yoga, dance, walking, or even stretching, can help release stagnant energy and stimulate new, creative ideas. When you engage your body, you’re not only increasing your physical health but also tapping into the mind-body connection that fuels creativity. Movement can be a form of meditation, grounding you in the present moment and allowing your mind to wander and explore new ideas. The key is to choose activities that you enjoy, so they naturally uplift your mood and boost your frequency. I opt for running. It has been a sacred practice for me, and it's where I seem to find my best ideas. There's something about getting lost in the streets or trails—just me, nature, and God—that activates a direct line of communication with my highest self. I start with an empty mental canvas and return with a starting point, a sketch, and sometimes even a masterpiece.
Surrounding yourself with high-vibrational influences is crucial. This means being intentional about the media you consume, the environments you inhabit, and the people you engage with. Positive, uplifting environments and connections can elevate your energy, while negativity can pull you down. Consider creating a space that inspires you, whether it’s a dedicated creative corner or simply surrounding yourself with objects that bring you joy. If I’m feeling uninspired, I’ll remove myself from my workspace and drive to my favorite café. Just that small shift and change of scenery serves as the spark I need. Similarly, engaging with art, music, books, or films that resonate on a higher frequency can stimulate your imagination and foster a creative mindset.
Self-care practices such as journaling, cold plunges, high-vibration music, or spending time in nature are powerful tools for changing your frequency. Journaling can help release thoughts and emotions that clog the flow of creativity, while sound can use frequencies to directly influence your energy. Nature, with its inherently high vibrational frequency and mood-elevating properties, acts as a grounding force. Simply walking barefoot on the grass or jumping into the ocean can restore balance and rejuvenate your mind. These are practices I personally rely on, and they have never failed to lift me out of a funk when that unsolicited nuisance decides to show up.
Lastly, as briefly mentioned above, cultivating a mindset of gratitude can significantly raise your vibration. Gratitude shifts your focus from what's lacking to what you already have, transforming your energy from a state of need to one of abundance. This shift can open up new channels for creative expression. Try starting or ending your day by listing a few things you're grateful for, no matter how small. The more you practice gratitude, the more you'll notice an elevation in your overall energy, making it easier to access and maintain a high-vibrational state that fosters creativity. The more I express gratitude for the small things, the more they seem to grow into big things—in the best way possible. So, say 'thank you' often, appreciate what you have, keep immersing yourself in the vision you hold in your heart, and never stop cheering for yourself.
